Ukrainian and German researchers discussed how to strengthen their cooperation

What has changed in recent years in the cooperation between Ukrainian and German NGOs, think tanks, what are the trends in the development of analytics, what potential and needs the cooperation of German and Ukrainian researchers has?

These and other important issues were on the agenda of our working group on 30. October 2019, at the office of the Institut für Europäische Politik in Berlin in frames of German Ukrainian Researchers Network project.

The participants of the event focused on the expectations of the project, work directions, and on the issue of networking and building an effective online platform.

According to the project coordinator Liudmyla Melnyk, the previous project “Platform for Analytics and Intercultural Communication” aimed at disseminating research methods, and the task of GURN project is not only to continue this practice, but also to create a strong network of German and Ukrainian researchers.

The GURN project aims at developing cooperation between German and Ukrainian analysts, enhancing the research competencies of junior analysts and transferring knowledge about Ukraine to Germany.

The project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and implemented by Institut für Europäische Politik (Berlin, Germany) in cooperation with Ilko Kucheriv “Democratic Initiatives” Foundation, New Europe Center and the think twice UA.
